Does the fatal Russell Phillips crash exist online?
Does anyone remember a guy named Russell Phillips that was killed (and purportedly decapitated) in a vicous Sportsmen Division crash at Charlotte Motor Speedway about 10 or 15 years ago? Where his car launched over the back of another so its roof went into the catchfence and basically everything from the windshield up got sheared off? And his helmet actually rolled across the track? I'm not trying to be morbid in asking this...it's just that one glance at YouTube/Yahoo Video/ETC will show just about EVERY fatal racing crash from a major division in the last 30 or 40 years, and yet, the Russell Phillips crash, arguably the most horrifying stock car crash ever caught on tape (and from about 5 angles at that) is COMPLETELY BANISHED from the internet...search him, there's virtually no info online about what at the time, was a VERY well-publicized incident. In fact, it's the crash that brought the Sportsmen Division to a permanent end. Anybody know why this incident has been blackballed?
