My dad is so evil and vindictive he lied all this time he wanted our dog dead how can i forgive him! 10pts?

same thing happened between my husband n his father his father sold a horse that belonged to me telling lies to my husband it angered my husband n me n there was a big blowup over it that was in 1999 my husband refused to speak to his father for 5 yrs till i told him hes gotta forget this n have a relationship with him me i couldnt forgive him i had lady for 5 yrs n he sold her for no reason.my husband did have 2 yrs with his dad before he died.i know its hard to forgive him but you only have one dad let this p dont turn away from him give him a second chance.
