Ulcer on a 6 yr old boy ?

I came across an ulcer on the of a 6 yr old boy. both his parents are not having syphilis? what can this ulcer mean? what can be various ways a 6 yr old child can get an infection in ? the boy does not recount any one touching his in near future.
