When I order pizza or soup with Jalape�os on or in it most of the time they are really soft and delicious but.?

When I order pizza or soup with Jalape�os on or in it most of the time they are really soft and delicious, but I have actually grew some. How do I go from that crispy diced pepper to a softer one like in most foods? It seems even when I cook them in soup they remain crunchy. Do you saute them like you do onions or somthing?
