Should i give up on him?

I really like this boy in my cl and we're close and we flirt all the time and from liking people's status's on facebook everyone thinks he's my perfect match. But there's this girl in my cl who everyone just thinks is perfect and even though she's my friend she thinks everyone loves her and she's completely gorgeous and she flirts with him all the time as well even though she has a boyfriend. He's sending me all the right signals that he likes me but then sometimes it seems like he just wants to be friends and its confusing. i don't know how i can get her out of the picture so that maybe he might give me a chance. How can i get him to maybe try and think of me as more than a friend? Any advice or ideas would be great :) thanks in advance Aimee.
