I want to become a surgeon. I'm not squeamish with blood but I don't know if I could cut peoples skin. Advice?

I really don't mind blood or puss but the idea of sticking an IV in someone's arm creeps me out. Any doctors or surgeons that had the same fear and how did you get over it?
