Getting started on a 5gal planted tank?

Make sure you get either shrimp or crayfish but not both. I have a 10-gallon shrimp tank and would recommend getting marimo moss . You shouldn't need an external lamp, it depends on how far you want to go with the plants. You can get special substrate for plants, so they get enough nutrition.
