okay. if you are not happy with your boyfriend, you need to end it. despite anything he does, he does not deserve to be cheated on. i know you havent 'done' anything with your ex, but you're thinking about it and you still have a boyfriend. if you found out that's what he was doing, you'd probably be pissed. so be fair to him and leave him alone before you even think about anything with your ex. but when it comes to your ex, if he says he doesnt want to date, he doesn't want to date. quit playing games.
